This blog features work from students from the Department of Visual and Performing arts in Middlesbrough College. All pictures, text and video shown in this blog showcases the work of students from their Induction week in September 2008. During this induction, students from all disciplines - media, performing arts, music practice, art & design and textiles - were integrated into five groups. Each of these five groups worked towards a performance as an interpretation of one of five different themes:
Jack and the Beanstalk
Hansel and Gretel
The Ugly Duckling
Little Red Riding Hood
Cinderella
Students, under the guidance of staff intrepreted these traditional fairy tales in their own words and with their own choice of music, in a performance that was originated, planned and performed entirely within five days! Examples of the results are shown here. Please feel free to add comments and feedback in the comments section! All text, images, photography and video from this part of the blog onwards has been produced entirely by Middlesbrough College students as part of their induction programme. Enjoy! - Kevin Trundley Course Co Ordinator, BTEC Media Middlehaven
